Bespoke Evening Dresses London, Made to Measure

An evening dress cut from a fresh pattern to your own measurements, designed with you and finished by hand in East London.

A bespoke evening dress at Tsvetigor Fashion Design starts from £1,200 and most pieces are ready in two to four weeks. That figure is a starting point, not a fixed total. Every commission is quoted individually after a consultation, so the fabric you choose, the structure of the design, and the amount of hand finishing all shape the final price. What stays the same is the result: a gown drawn from a pattern made for your body alone, fitted until it sits exactly right.

What a bespoke evening dress includes

You are not buying a sample dress nudged a size up or down. The work begins with a blank sheet and your measurements, and from there a unique pattern is drafted, toiled, and refined across fittings. Tsvetelina Goranova designs and makes each piece herself in the Gants Hill studio, so the person sketching your dress is the same person cutting the cloth and sewing the final hem.

The commission covers a private design consultation, a pattern built to your figure, the agreed fabric and trims, every fitting the dress needs, and finishing done by hand. Each garment also carries a small signature detail, a piece of lace or trim sewn to an edge, that marks it as yours. To see the range of finished work, browse the portfolio.

The design and fitting process

We start with a conversation, in person or online, about the occasion, the silhouette you have in mind, and how you want to feel wearing the dress. Bring a sketch, a saved photo, or just a description. From there the process moves in clear stages.

Consultation and measurements

This is where the idea takes shape. We talk fabric, neckline, length, and structure, then take a full set of measurements. If you are working online, you are guided through measuring yourself accurately on camera.

Pattern and first fitting

A pattern is drafted to your body and made up as a toile so the shape can be checked and adjusted before the real cloth is cut. Nothing expensive is committed until the fit is right.

Fittings and finishing

Most evening dresses need two or three fittings to perfect the line. A corseted or beaded gown may want a fourth. Once the fit is settled, the dress is finished by hand and pressed, ready to wear.

Fabrics for evening wear

Cloth is half the design. Silk satin and silk crepe drape with the weight and movement an evening dress wants, catching light as you move. Double georgette gives a softer, floating finish, while a fine wool crepe holds a sculptural shape for a tailored gown. Lace and beaded fabrics add texture for galas and black-tie events, and a structured base such as duchesse satin supports a fitted bodice. Choosing well matters more than choosing expensive, and our guide to choosing fabrics explains how each one behaves on the body. Additional cloths can be sourced on request.

How the price is built and what from £1,200 covers

The £1,200 starting figure reflects a piece cut from a fresh pattern, fitted in person or online, and finished by hand. Four things move the number from there: the fabric, since a full gown can take four or five metres of silk; the complexity of the design, as a draped panelled gown has far more pattern pieces than a clean column; the amount of hand finishing, from rolled hems to applied beading; and the number of fittings the structure needs. Because the price is built from real materials and real hours, you get a fixed quote before any cloth is cut.

For context, established couture ateliers in central London commonly charge £2,000 to £4,000 and more for comparable evening and occasion pieces, partly because of address and overheads rather than the garment itself. Tsvetigor offers equivalent made to measure work below those couture-house prices. If you want the full breakdown, our journal piece on how much a bespoke dress costs in London walks through every factor, and the planning side of designing your gown is covered in designing your own evening dress.

Bespoke evening and cocktail dresses: from £1,200. Quoted individually after a consultation. The consultation fee comes off your order if you go ahead.

When to start

For a fixed event, aim to begin six to eight weeks ahead. That leaves comfortable room for the consultation, the toile, and two or three fittings without any rush, and it means the dress is finished well before the day rather than the night before. Most pieces are ready in two to four weeks once the design is agreed, so a shorter timeline is sometimes possible, but earlier is always calmer. If your date is close, message first and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done. You can see the full service overview and current structure on the services and prices page.
